Real change is here! No longer will American beer lovers be forced to choose between those quirky, eccentric beers of Belgium or the explosively flavorful IPAs of the United States.
We have brewed the change we have been waiting for!

Liberally hopped to an audacious degree, our Belgian Double IPA reaches across the aisle to bridge the seemingly contradictory brewing philosophies of the old world and new. Our beer uses generous portions of Pilsner and Vienna malts to give it its hazy golden color and rocky white head. Two independent dry hop additions of Simcoe, Chinook, Amarillo, Hallertauer, and Spalt put aside their differences to form a delicious coalition. Floral grassiness dominates the nose with fruity hints of bright citrus well represented. Its subtle spicy flavor comes from a Belgian yeast as well as generous doses of German hops in the kettle. These aggressive flavors are complemented by a determined bitterness and a full but dry finish.

All of these characteristics come together in a nonpartisan spirit of cooperation to form a beer that is both righteously flavorful and drinkable.
Enjoy!

clear orange, smooth offwhite head. fresh hoppy aroma, mild malty, faint herbal or spicy notes. flavor is bitter hoppy, belgian yesty. very heavily hooped and quite bitter belgianstyle ale. re-rate 2015-12-05 large bottle from ølbutikken or kihoskh. Very fruity almost juicy aroma at first, it then settles into a very bitter hoppy piny grapefruity aroma with some malts. Flavor is bitter hoppy, grapefruity, citrus fruit juice, yeasty, the yeasty flavors are a little bit like saison yeast, slightly sort of bretty spicy. rate bumped up a little, nice brew indeed.

Pours gold into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Pine resin and funk aromas. Sweet bread, caramel and funk upfront turning to a lasting resin and grapefruit finish.

Batch 1 bottled Dec 2011 Wicked fresh :) Pours a slightly hazy deep straw yellow color with a decent sized head that slowly recedes and leaves marginal lace. Wow this is hoppy! Huge amounts of pine and citrus waft into the air long before I get my nostrils over the top of the glass. Slightly spicy with a hint of green onions and just a touch of yeasty esters. Taste is resinous, pine, citrus, spicy, woody hops with barely enough bready malt to call this anything other than fresh squeezed hop juice. Belgian yeast adds a hint of phenols and a touch of pepper to round out the flavor. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a bubbly, prickly, resinous mouthfeel. Finally a Belgian IPA where the yeast funk doesn’t hide the hop funk on my palette. Very nicely done.

Draft. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops and a bit of yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrusy fruits and malt, as well as a lighter touch of spices, leading to a dry finish.

12oz bottle with a Mayflower cap–pours a foamy to rocky white head and hazy yellow/gold color. Aroma is orange zest/lemon, some spice, light malt. Taste is orange zest/lemon, some spice, light malt, alcohol bite. Has an I2PA syrupy mouth feel that changes to dry at the finish. Caramel and biscuit as it gets to cellar temperature.

Many many many thanks to EDA for bringing a bottle of this to Peter’s NY gathering - it came in a fancy box and everything! - hazy golden pour - the nose explodes with lemongrass, grapefruit, orange rind, pine - the flavor is a lovely mixture of herbs, citrus, grass, hay, etc. - no real detectable belgian character here, so I question the style distinction - quite dry, and extremely bitter - delicious, no matter what it’s supposed to be.
