Cask days 2015. Brown pour, small white head. Aroma is all dark, strong, bitter coffee, with very little of anything else. Finish is again, just cold coffee, touches of nutiness, but the rye make no appearance at all.

Draft sampler at the brewery in downtown Buffalo, New York. Very dark brown color with an off-white head. It does have a faint nutty aroma. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Nutty and chocolate malt flavors. Clean with no bitterness. Good stuff.

Draft @ Big Ditch. Dark brown. Light toasted malts, chocolate, cookie, malty. Slightly sweet and roasty finish.

Draft at Rodney’s. Very dark brown, ring of beige head. Burnt toast aroma, taste adds a touch of sweetness, molases and brown sugar. Something lingers, hard to say what. Ok, a bit sweet.

Thanks for the can, Heather.
The appearance was a hazy brown color with a finger’s worth of semi-tan foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Some light lace.
The aroma had a good roastiness about it. Solid amount of the coffee beans. Light milk chocolate. Subtlte earthy spice. Rye? Yes, it’s somewhat there, but in a sly little spiciness.
The flavor yielded towards the blend of the sweet and roasty side. Nice aftertaste of the malt to the earthiness. Once again, the rye is super light but there in the finish.
The feel was roughly medium bodied with a nice semi-smooth feel along my tongue. Slight dryness along my tongue. ABV felt good. Carbonation felt good too.
Overall, very nice brown ale well worthy of having again.
