This beer uses a pale ale malt base with the earthy and floral Delta hop variety, a new US variety obtained by crossing US Cascade and UK Fuggles. Alchemy XII was brewed to trial this variety. Delta whole flowers are added to each cask at racking to provide additional varietal character.

Cask @ 3 Judges. Slightly hazy amber colour, off-whithe head. Nose is caramel malts, bit of fruits, wood polish. Flavour is slight roasted malts, wood polish, toffee, wine sourness, candy suger. Like a barley wine-light. Full bodied. This is great stuff.

Cask at Euston Tap. Clear copper colour with lasting cream head. Tasty beer with some tea characteristics. Sat drinking waiting for the train to Liverpool. Drinkable enough without jumping out at me. Some bitterness on finish.
