Cask at the Fat Cat, Sheffield. Clear golden brown pour with a big bubbly head. Malty aroma but a pretty nondescript flavour. I expect a best bitter to be bitter, but sadly it's not. A nice enough ale, but there are much better examples out there. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at the Fat Cat, Sheffield on 6th February 2010. Golden copper with lasting white head. Initially crisp, bitter and citric-hoppy with a burst of nuttiness. Refreshingly easy drinking with a smooth mouthfeel and a fairly dry finish. Re-rating 19th January 2013: cask at the same location. Rating values unchanged - mark of consistency. Citric and grassy hop with these flavours dominating from aroma to finish, mouthfeel somewhat zingier this time.
