Tap at Soho, Tampere. Color is slightly cloudy orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, nuts, hops and malts.

Cask. Oxbow Sheffield. Soft haze on a medium gold. Very decent sparkler induced creamy white head. Nose has semi sweet malt. Some citrus peel. Some sweetness with big grassy bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel. Moderate bitterness to finish. Nice golde.

Can from SB. Clear golden with frothy, white head. Malty and bitter, some biscuits. Some citrus lingering. Piney finish. Superb drinkability. Great stuff!

Casknat PoW, Farnborough. Aroma is malty with caramel. Clear amber. Frothy white head. Medium bitter. A citrus tang over a malty core. Grainy. Light-medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Long dry finish. Enjoyable.

Creamy off white head on a vivid pale amber coloured body. Malt & bitter fruit aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & lighter on the back with a cloying aft. Fruity, herbal, light malt & spiced tastes with a bitter tangy finish. Very tasty.

Ordinary bitter by this Manchester craft brewery, from tap at Dynamo in Brussels (where these guys apparently passed by for a tap takeover just a few days earlier). Snow white, moussy, stable, medium thick head lacing in shreds over a misty orange-tinged peach blonde beer with golden edges. Aroma of rusk, grass, mugwort, old cheese rind, soggy old peanuts, minerals, fried tomato peel, but also background notes of pond water, rotting potatoes and even manure, all becoming stronger as the beer warms up. Cleanly fruity onset, some apple peel and unripe peach notes, minerally carb, slick and smooth mouthfeel; soggy rusk- and bread crust-like maltiness with peanutty edge and something toasty, merging seamlessly with a grassy, lightly wormwoody hop bitterness. Minerally notes linger under this medium long, quenching bitterness, but as said, retronasally things take a turn for the worst when the beer warms up so something is definitely ‘off’ here – could be the tap lines perhaps? In any case this beer does show the basic structure and flavour profile of a bitter, though lacking in the creaminess, floral hoppiness and general ‘finesse’ that I love so much about a good English bitter – I will not, however, complain about the fact that this was tapped the regular way, as the naturally driven hand pump system still used in old England will probably never make its entrance on the continent, alas (it would long have done so otherwise).

Clear golden, white head. Sweet and soft grains, tea leaf dry bitter. Tasty, clean and crisp.

Tap at Murphy's Law. Clear deep golden with white head. Caramel malts, bread crust, soft citrus peel and spruce, dry cocoa beans, honey. Medium sweet and bitter. Solid medium bodied.

Gravity cask at the Real Ale Classroom, Stoneygate, Leicester. Light brown, almost clear with a loose beige head. Light aroma of wood, orange peel, a touch of turps. Bittersweet taste with earthy bitter hop to the fore, although there's also some overripe citrus and notes of Angostura bitters. Finish is very bitter bordering on medicinal. A clean, decent bitter made very well.
