Užavas tumšajam alum raksturīga īpaša iesala garša, kuru papildina tīkams apiņu rūgtums un aromāts. Lielisku vizuālo efektu sniedz piesātinātā alus krāsa, kas izpaužas saulrietā dzirkstījoša sarkanīga dzintara toņos.
Užavas tumšais alus - alkohola saturs 4,9%, nesatur konservantus, netiek filtrēts un pasterizēts. Fasējums-nerūsējošā tērauda mucās un 0,5 l stikla pudelēs.

Draught @ hbf 2018. Lactobacillus. Like the medicine I had as a kid when I had diarrhea. Diacetyl and grains.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear, deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma has a slightly tart, cidery touch - and the next sniff reveals quite some diacetyl - yuck. Medium body, sweet caramel, but also diacetyl and a vague tartness indicating a lurking tartness. The looks promised a lot that the beer couldn't deliver....... 080917

Bottle 0.5l. Almost clear, amber colored. AROMA- caramel, malts, fermented apple, raisins. FLAVOR- lightly sour, slightly bitter, caramel, a bit fruity, touch of cardboard. Medium bodied.
Not so bad.

Bottle 500 ml. Semi-dark, brown with red color. Aroma: pale and caramel malt. Taste: malty, a little bread, mild hop bitterness.

Flaske 500ml anskaffet av djoeye og delt med ham og Rune på pauserommet 27 Aug 14. Mørk gyldenbrun. Lavt skum. Svak karamellaroma. Smaken er malt & korn. Vassen.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks mom for this bottle. Clear copper-amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, a bready note and a faint vegetal hint. Sweetish flavor with malt, mild caramel, light toastiness and a mildly drier finish. Light to medium-bodied.

On tap at some market in Riga. Hazy caramel colour with a yellowish off-white head. Caramely aroma with fruity notes, malt and hints of hops. Sweet and caramely with a balanced bitterness. Easy to drink, but too sweet and a bit too much caramel flavour.

500ml bottle from Rimi, Riga. Orange body, large soapy off-white head, that rapidly diminishes. Reisin, hay, cereal, butter and hints of lemon.Tastes of sweet malt, some fruit, butter, honey, coriander and cheese. Round and smooth. (Shared @From Latvia with Alus Beer Session 22.03.12)

Bottle @ Porins, Liepaja. Pours dark amber with a fading white head. Aroma malt, caramel, little hops. Flavor is sweet with malt, caramel, Brown sugar, little grassy hops. Medium body, soft carbonation. 040313
