This ale is traditionally highly hopped and robust to survive the long voyage to the Indian sub-continent. The result is a full-bodied Pale Ale with a zesty character. Dark golden in colour, pleasing toffee aromas, and distinctive floral citrus flavours.

Standard yellow / golden color, white head. Don’t smell much. Taste yeast and medium bitterness. Pretty standard easy drinkable beer.

Bottled 500ml. -from Biererei, Vienna. Unclear golden coloured, medium sized off-white head, caramellish hoppy (not so fruity) nose. Moderate malty, light hoppy and caramel with strong bitter finish and lingering aftertaste. Expected better brew.

Chevy Chase Wine and Liquors, DC 500ml ($5): Pours a copper colour with a frothy white head. Aroma is of caramel malts, honey, and piny hops. Taste is pretty sweet, with the bitterness in very moderation. Not much complexity and in fairness, I think that the beer was a little old when I got it. Drinkable, but not exciting.

The very nice bottle pour a gold/copper beer that’s supposed to be an IPA. It’s not as hoppy as other IPAs though. I’d drink it again, but it’s nothing too special.

7/12/12/13/8/12

500ml bottle picked up at the Sourced Market, located at St Pancras train station. Pours a frothy white head over a golden-brown body with a reddish shade. Malt-fruity nose. Caramel malts and resinous hops in flavour ending with a nice bitter touch. Medium bodied. Drinks well (shared at a hotel room in London, 21.03.2011).

Golden/amber pour with a frothy white head. Citrus and fresh herb aromas. Lemon zest, orange rind and pineapple flavours. Sharp hop bite. Hoppy, zesty finish. Quite refreshing.

Originally rated January 2009. Came in a gift-pack at the LCBO for Christmas 2008, with their Ruby Red brew and a tall glass. Best before date on back label reads 02JUL09. Pours a mild hazy golden-orange colour with a foamy off-white head that fits perfectly in their pint glass. Good retention, great lacing all over and low carbonation. Nice smell of hop, but not too powerful (crazy). Also, some grain and a bit of sweetness. The taste is hoppy, but again, not too powerful, not over-the-top bitter. So, recommended for those who like it hoppier then mass-produced IPA, but not like American hoppy hop-hop beers.
