750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 2/27/2013. Pours slightly hazy deep orange copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of orange zest, grapefruit, orange rind, lemon zest, caramel, raisin, pine, floral, grass, toast, brown sugar, and floral/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with well balanced citrus/pine hops with caramel/toasted malts; and solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, orange rind, lemon zest, caramel, raisin, pine resin, floral, grass, toast, brown sugar, and floral/toasted earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pine, caramel, toast, brown sugar, and floral/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice balance of citrus/pine hops with caramel/toasted malts; with a good malt/bitterness balance and minimal cloying flavors on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a slick and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good DIPA style. Good balance and complexity of hop and malt flavors; and quite smooth to sip on. The age pretty much put it into a barelywine profile in the taste and aromas; but it was still a nicely enjoyable offering as it stands.

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 Beers this beer poured a dark orange-caramel color with a medium sized foamy beige-orange head that left great lacing. The aroma was sweet pine, tropical fruits, pineapple and a bit of tobacco. The flavor was sweet sugar, a strong tropical fruit presence and notes of pineapple, grapefruit, leather and tobacco. Long finish of pineapple, tropical fruits, leather and tobacco. Full bodied. Very nice.

Corked bottle from Whole Foods Henderson, NV, bottled 02/13 12
Hazy amber color, medium sized creamy head. Strong aroma of hop resins, lemon cake, late stable impression. Good flavor of malt and toffee, with medium sweetness, moderate crystal malt, but forgiven because the hopping is extreme, with plenty of resins and fruits, oranges and more.

Shared a 750ml bottle amongst friends. Poured a copper color with a medium sized mostly-white head. Aroma was soapy malts, with a bunch of floral notes. Nice hoppy character. Alcohol is pretty well masked.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with Iphonephan. Poured cloudy golden brown with a light frothy head and some fairly long lasting lace. Nice malty aroma. Warm bitter typical DIPA flavour but with a rather unusual aftertaste which I'm having trouble placing. Not my favourite DIPA, but nice to taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Taster at Standard Market. Certainly a big smack of hop in the nose and on the tongue, even in my little sample. A little estery for a big IPA, which gives it a fruity note playing off the hops. Bitterness seems only lightly piney and more juicy than citrusy. That may be because I was sampling wines before turning to Standard Market’s amazing tap list.
