A strong full-bodied, rich and malty dark German lager often with a viscous quality and strong flavours. A form of doppelbock which has been frozen to remove some water content, resulting in a comcentrated flavour and alcohol content.

On cask at Main Street, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma is very malty, with lots of toasted nuts, dark dried fruits, and alcohol. Flavour is very malty and nutty, with lots of dark dried fruits, toasted nuts, bready malt, and a sharp bitterness to round it out. Really nicely done. The bitterness is a bit too sharp, but the malty depth is great. Very nice.

Deep ruby brown body and kind of weak foam, nice soft chewy sweet biscuit on the nose, sweet and simple. Flavour is big chewy biscuit, espresso, toasted pumpernickel. Full and crisp, no sign of that alcohol. Hugely enjoyable.
