BREWERS NOTES
This truly local beer was brewed entirely with ingredients grown within a 100 mile radius of Strange Fellows Brewing. Except for a slightly hazy appearance this is a West Coast Pale Ale with an assertive bitterness and a round malty body. Our friends at Locality Malt and Brewing in Langley grew and malted the barley. The hops were grown at Bredenhof farm in Abbotsford and the yeast culture came from Bright Brewers Yeast at UBC. Unlike so many modern IPAs and Pale Ales the hops bring less ripe fruit and more earth, citrus peel, orange, and resin flavours. The

Poured from the tap. Clear orangey gold with small white head. Grain malt, lots of vegetal, some herbal notes and hint of wood. Quite rough around the edges. Didn’t even bother finishing my taster.

Soft corn and vague grain aroma, has medium orangey gold body with okay foam. Flavour is candied hops, caramelled burlap, soft sweed wood. Full and chewy mouthfeel. Decent, slightly overbearing but still manageable.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is rather herbaceous, with some grassy hops. Flavour is too herbaceous for me, bordering on vegetal, with light grass. Too herbal and vegetal but not bad.
