Deep copper Brown Ale with roasted malt caramel-like fullness and a medium body. The beer is balanced with the firm clean bitterness of American Amarillo Hops, that whilst not strong in flavour or bitterness, are crucial to the overall complexity of this beer. Roast Caramel Malt and Milk Chocolate–like flavours are the hallmark of an American Style Brown Ale.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of hops, bread, caramel, and a bit of butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, bread, hops, and malt, leading to a dry bready finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of joergen. Pours a clear orangey brown with a creamy and lacing off-white head. Interesting and almost perfumy aroma - good hops here. Medium body, a little cocoa powder and nuts again with perfumy, tropical accents. Very interesting. 080512

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel, bread, some slight hops and mild earthy and chocolaty notes. Flavour is sour wood, mild spices, chocolate and some hops, herbs and mild caramel. Quite pleasant, a bit too tonguetickling carbonation though.

Bottled 500ml (Petalax, October 2011)
Deep clear ruby colot, small steady beige head. Chocolaty, bready American hoppy aroma. Light bodied, watery palate. Crisp carbonation. Some chocolate, light bready-pine flavors. Kind of tasty but weakish, table beer -like.

Half pint in the Greenwich Union, Meantime Breweries tap house: Oct 2011. Deep, dark brown body, ruby red when held up to bright daylight, thin tan coloured head. Hop aroma, unusual for a Brown Ale (even an American one?), malts take a secondary place in this smell that’s for sure. American Amarillo hops give it that smell and impart some bitterness into the taste as well; there is a chocolate, maltiness within the flavours too, this gives the beer some balance, but it doesn’t sit quite right in my eyes. I’m sure the brewer would say it is complex, I’m saying it’s a mish mash of a brew: not unpleasant but neither here nor there in its make up. Different, but not really my sort of thing.
