Polish IPA with six hop varieties, thanks to Meeki for sharing the bottle! Snow white, mousy, bit irregular, thinning and opening head on a hazy apricot blonde beer with ochre-ish tinge. Aroma of kumquat, mandarin, green mango, lime zest, dry biscuit cake, overripe shallot, diesel, grapefruit juice, guava, pink peppercorns. Dryishly fruity onset, green mango, unripe banana, kumquat and some subtle lime, lively carbonated with somewhat minerally effect, smooth, quite full and oily body - though not that overly soft fluffiness you expect from a typical NEIPA. Dry-biscuity, bread-crusty maltiness under a wave of aromatic hops, varying from pink grapefruit and mandarin to kiwi and soapy starfruit, with a light emphasis on the first, citric aspect; the hops also provide a welcoming peppery bitterness in the end, which may be equally atypical for what is intended as a NEIPA, but I love it. Balanced, aromatic, elegant, refreshing and technically flawless: this is a damn fine IPA in my book, with a very clear nod to the old West Coast school - but still in connection with the current haze craze. More and more of these 'compromise IPAs' seem to pop up throughout craft brewing Europe these days and this to me is a good thing.
