(Bottle, 0.33 l - batch 313 - BB 01.10.2022, from Alko, 20210919) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, dense, lightly brown and it lasted long. Aroma had burnt malts, clove, liquorice, sweetness and dark chocolate. Palate was full bodied and and rather dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, clove, dark chocolate, ash, sweetness, pine and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, spicy and bitter. A surprisingly pleasant burnt brew with spicy notes.

Bottle picked up from Etre Gourmet Webshop Grez-Doiceau, Belgium (I think) and consumed at home, Wednesday 2nd June 2021 sat outside it has been a wonderful 🌞 day, we had Grilled Squid and Fish Goujons for tea, both were great, listening to ITLP07 Zenker Brothers - Cosmic Transmission. Pours black with a mid sized beige head once again this was a fast disappearing head. Really nice Impy Stout a little spice edge from the cardamom, is it cardamom? we are not necessarily getting the potato but we both picked up an earthy quality on the nose. Super smooth, rich and indulgent, chocolate, a little roasty bitterness, this is another great beer this evening, it's getting 4.1 for the simple fact that it's made amazing use out of potatoes and an extra little nod for the wonderful label artwork.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Spicy and roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of cardamom, slightly disguised hints of coffee, a minimally strachy, veggie touch. Taste is roasty, dark malty, slightly dry spicy, minimally starchy, veggie, notes of caradom, disguised hints of coffee; dry, roasty and spicy finish. Oily-creamy-mushy texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Unbalanced, overspiced, very nice texture - OK.
