Named for the World War II aircraft, this beer was brewed initially by Mitchell’s in Lancaster, England. When Mitchell’s retired from brewing, it was picked up by neighbor Thwaites and they turned it into a major brand. In 2014 Marston's took over production of most Thwaites beers after the closure of the latter's main brewery. Banks's already brewed Lancaster Bomber under licence since 2014 but now Banks's is part of Marston's and the beer has become a Banks's in house beer. So you may see this beer branded as Banks's or Marstons.

500ml bottle. This is the top rated beer in my region of the West Mids on here and I've only just found it on the shelves! Pours amber, small off-white head, good retention. Aroma of caramel, bread, very malty. Taste is sweet, caramel, malty, stale resinous hop. Body is quite full considering the ABV. Its fine but not moreish despite it being a malty bitter. I want to tip my imaginary hat to these traditional beers from the old big brewers, but its hard sometimes.

Bottle via Lidl SK. Moderate body, med-light carbonation. Quite clean, mostly malty. Med-light caramelly nutty flavour. Mostly dull bitterness, with hops character absent. Not much more to say here. Rather easy drinking, good basic thirst quencher.
