Brewed to an extra strength compared with other draught stouts, only dark malts are used to produce a refreshing, smooth, clean tasting creamy stout with a delicate malt aroma.

Keg at the Citie of Yorke, London on 21st January 2011. Black with thick white head, thick malt and grassy herbtaste in mouth. Roast malts and slight smokiness, rich thick mouthfeel and a herby finish that was also bitter.

Tap at Bricklayers Arms. Pours black with a creamy, off-white head. Roasted malt aroma with faint cocoa. Flavor is lightly sweet, roasty with some tobacco and char, along with mild smoked bacon. There is a subtle bitterness as well. Medium in body with fine carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel. Finishes roasty with lingering smokiness and mild dryness. Flavor seems a bit sharp at times, but overall I found it very good.

Keg at Sinclairโs Oyster Bar, Manchester. Dark brown-not quite black, with a tan colored, fine head. Creamy aroma of burnt malts. Relatively sweet flavor; very burnt. Smooth, creamy, lactic, with chocolate and coffee flavors. The dry burnt finish is very nice. A bitter aftertaste lasts a good while.

On tap at the Cittie of York, London 13/10/09. Deep, dark brown with reddish hints and a creamy, off-white nitro head. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. Flavour had more of the same, if more pronounced and a lingering dry finish. Good.
