can from kihoskh, very dark brown, brown small head.
aroma is boozy and almost chili like at first, then soon changes over to dark chocolate and roasted malts, string booze note but can't tell what booze without looking. guess would be rum.
flavor is roasted malty, strong boozy note , rum like again but not sure, some roasted malty , charred woody smoked notes, booze could also be smoked whisky, faint vanilla. end is more boozy than roasted malty. Not bad, but quite different.

Superstrong barrel aged Buxton stout, can from Etre Gourmet shared with Craftmember. Thin and open, pale beige, tiny-bubbled ‘ring’ for a head, eventually dissolving completely over a black robe with waferthin burgundy edge. Aroma of bitter chocolate, smoked horse meat, beef stock, whisky, fried ‘trompettes de la mort’, burnt toast, porcini, dried thyme, marmite, molasses, roasted walnuts, bayleaf. Densely sweet plus umami onset, beef stock and porcini mingling with candied fig and date, softish in carb, with very full, oily body; thick dry-caramelly, toasted brown-bready, bitter-chocolatey, bit walnutty backbone, coffeeish roasty layer towards the finish along with soft woody tannins, leafy hops and effects of tea, bayleaf and black pepper, warmed up by evidently whisky-like alcohol (non-peated) with becomes a wee bit astringent in the end, unsurprisingly so at this strength. Intense, roasty, layered, powerful stout – a tad too umami-forward, perhaps, but reminiscent of earlier days of the global craft beer movement and one to enjoy sip by sip. I wonder what this tasted like four years ago when it was still young, but I doubt if the flavours have changed very much since then, considering the type of beer, ABV and the fact that it has been canned and cellared all the time…

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours black with a frothy, brown head. Big and rich, lots of great layered dark malts, some warming alcohol, chocolate, bourbon, toasted coconut, ash, earth, burnt toffee. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, lightly sticky, more chocolate, dark malts, dates, figs, toasted sugars. Delicious.

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Pitch black, minimal brown head. Aroma of dates and molasses. Very sweet with massive body and rounded somewhat viscous mouthfeel. Dates and raisins, lots of molasses, some chocolate brownie. Oaky whisky brings a peppery warming finish. Conentrated and not overly cakey.
