We’ve teamed up with our world-renowned mates To Øl from Denmark to recreate a favourite Danish dessert in beer form. Drømmekage (Dream Cake) is a sponge cake with a thick yet soft caramel, vanilla and coconut topping. This Imperial Dark Ale is full of all those rich cake flavours with caramelised coconut and vanilla added to a rich malt bill of Pale malt, Melanoidin, Carafa 3, Caramel Aroma and Golden Naked Oats. We’ve given the Danish tradition of sharing a cake with a friend an Aussie twang by putting all of these delicious flavours into one convenient can!

Can. Almost black with a tan head that fizzes away in a minute or so. Aroma is not mucking about with deeply toasted coconut and dark sugars. Some spiced bread. Very sweet and a bit syrupy. The toasted and dark aroma turns out to be burnt taste. A bit plasticy too. Ugh.

From a 440ml can on 21/12/2020. Pours a deep brown with a smallish head. Has quite a strong and pleasant choc-coconut aroma. Tastes of chocolate, caramel, vanilla and lots of coconut, with a sharpish, slightly roasty bitterness finishing things off. Sweet but not overly so, and relatively easy drinking for such a big beer, with just a hint of warming alcohol presnting. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Distinctive, well made and enjoyable.
