Cask at Ye Olde Boot, Chester. Poured amber with a large head. Aroma was sweet honey hops, caramel malt and apple. Some apple to start and a sweet malt finish. Not the best pint of bitter, but you canโ€™t knock ยฃ1.52!

Tap at Bricklayers Arms. Pours a clear honey hue with a thick, creamy white head. Some grassy hops dominate the aroma, with bready malts lurking. Flavor is sweet with caramel, toffee and light apple, then some understated hops with mild pine and citrus. Medium in body with fine carbonation. Very creamy. Finishes well-balanced with sweet maltiness and caramel, then some lingering bitterness. Very good.

From the big oak barrel at Sinclairโ€™s Oyster Bar, Manchester. Good fruity taste and aroma. Not a whole lot of hops for the style. Lots of fruit; just a bit sweet. Very smooth; very nice. Easy to drink and full-flavored, but not at all too bitter. Great balance. Excellent.

Medium creamy offwhite lasting shiny head. Chestnut brown body settles slowly. Faint wooden aroma. Soft delicate wooden floral taste with nutty metallic notes. Soft, smooth, clean mouthfeel. Dry wooden metallic aftertaste. Very nice. (0.5pt on cask at Cittie of Yorke.)
