The darker version of the classic Satan Gold, since 1992. Peach blonde with medium thick, quite stable head and bready and nutty malt character, adorned with some orange peel fraîcheur, sweetish, otherwise fairly neutral and a bit metallic; some herbal hops in the finish add balance. In all: a bit bland actually, I prefer Satan Gold over this.

30/VI/14 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ Bouvier's place, football WC match Belgium-USA - BB: 27/IX/15 (2014-688)

Clear dark orange beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, sweet and sugary, peaches, some banana, bit oxidized. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, caramel, bit malty, pretty oxidized, almonds, little bitter, sourish. Aftertaste: orange peel, lemon rind, bitter, very oxidized, sweet, some caramel. And this beer had still one year before expiration? Madness...

Standard Belgian blond beer. Mild taste indeed, of grain, hops and some fruit. Meh.

Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy amber brown color with thin, fully diminishing frothy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of yeast, dark fruits and wine. Taste starts with moderate sweet toasted malt, follows by vinous and yeasty acidity, mouthfeel is warming and alcoholic, while finish is quite bitter. Full body, thick texture and fizzy natural carbonation in palate. Not so demonic as I expected...

330ml Bottle on 3rd Feb 2014 in Cambrinus, Brugge. As the name suggests, this has a red hue to it’s body colour, although it really has an orange amber beer. The head didn’t hang around, it was beige when it was there. Sweet fruits rule the nose and taste, mild apple feel with plenty of fizz in the body. Too pop like for me to be honest. I had this years ago and don’t remember it being so heavily carbonated. OK, but with so many great beers available in Belgium I’ll not be buying a crate of this.

330 ml bottle. Pours nice amber with a medium foamy head - that stays for a couple of minutes. Aroma is quite boozy and syrupy, has some sour fruit notes and sour maltiness. Honey. Taste reminds me gingerbread cookies, quite sweet but with a noticeable alcohol bite. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, has still some alcohol and … I felt some black pepper before it goes over into longer fruity and slightly bitter lingering sensation. Didn’t expect much from this one - but it’s alcohol warmth works well at a cold winter night. black pepper aftertaste

330 ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange/brown with light head. Light aromas of grass and malts. Flavors or sweet toasted malts with hints of toffee and dough. Thick. Indeed, nothing special.
