Bouteille 330ml. (2006)

Sampled in 2012. Didn't take many notes back than, but rated this 7.3/10. Now, time for a re-visit.
Pours clear, relatively dark amber. Medium to medium big siezd, relatively stable white head. Scent is somewhat weak. hints of dark bread, touch of caramel even, but very light in intensity. Taste starts excitingly fresh. It's got enough bitterness to lift the beer up, creating a higher drinkability, to the otherwise heavy, malty base. The malts are very outspoken, still. White bread, mild touch of dark bread, touches of caramel. Typical Belgian yeast, but they didnt overdo their esters and phenols at all. balance is a word frequently used, but rarely achieved by beers and brewers of this type. Of course carbonation is high ( to high for my taste, but thats the style of beer). Interesting how they made a beer drinkable, balanced, yet still tasty. This is what many Belgian brewers seem to try and achieve, but this one just did it. I like it ! well deserved a 7.3, as I was rating on personal taste (and still am), but out of respect for how it puts itself appart from the others, i'm even gonna up the score to 7.5 now.

Bottle, 8%. Weak fruity aroma, peppery hint. Almost clear dark copper colour. Small stable greyish tan head. The flavour starts off rather fruity, but ends cleaner than the starts lets on. Some alcohol in the finish, but not bad. The final bitterness is a tad rough and unpleasant, though.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt with a distinct fruity note. Ditto taste. Mild, flowery finish. An overwhelming presence of booze. Not bad, just not remarkable, either.

Huge and thick beige head. Orange-amber unclear colour. Smells malty. Sweet taste with a little bitter taste and some spices. Also alcohol you can feel it, maybe a bit too much. Good medium carbonation. Ok, but not my favourite.
