With this special brew, Batch One, we dared to experiment with combining our usual devotion to a solid malt profile with the addition of American aroma hops. Batch One is an American-inspired Ale characterized by its vast, full body and generous use of hops. In the glass, it has a reddish-brown colour with a coppery glow, and a beige-coloured head leaves a nice lacing behind. For this brew we have chosen to only use the noble Simcoe hop, both for boiling and the following dry-hopping. The hops give the beer its fresh citrus-like character and impart a solid bitterness to balance the sweet caramel malt.

Bottle at ÅBF08. Good citric and grassy aroma. Hazy orange colour. Sour hoppiness, but goes well with some sweetness and alcohol.

Nice aroma, malt, hop and parmesan, sweat. Good body strength, good caramel flavor, enough sweetness, powerful hopping, with resins and some sweetness. Very good.

Cloudy amber color. Strange aroma, with caramel, hop and paint thinner. Good body strength, strong sweet caramel flavor, warming alcohol, strong hopping of good quality, with some interesting resins; but as another beer from Amager tonight, it has a very light starting infection...

Hazy amber color. It has a deep fruity aroma, with piney resins. There is a good body, with caramel flavor, not much sweetness, and a very powerful citrusy and resiny hopping. Excellent

(Bottle at Pikkulintu on 2008-01-25) Lots of hops. Somewhat light-bodied, I would’ve liked this to be heavier. A bit dull "hop-bomb".

Biggish offwhite head. Slightly hazy amber body with light carbonation. Poweful grapefruit hop aroma with oily grassy chalky notes. Dry fruity citric malty taste with metallic, grassy, chalky notes. Long bitter chalky grass lingering aftertaste. Very powerful. Really liked thisl (0.5l bottle shared with gr0ve.)

Bottled. Hazy orangeish amber colour with mediumsized creamy white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is very fruity and flowery hops along with some chocolate cookies as well as some mild roasted notes. Flavour is very much the same in a very nice and harmonic balance. Hides the alcohol very well.

Batch 68: 50cl bottle@vinensverden,Odense. Pours copper/orange with an amazing creamy white head & lacings. Wauw! Aroma has American hops all over. Citrus & pine. Smooth mouthfeel. Again hops - sticky & bitingly bitter. Other than that perhaps a little touch of caramel & alcohol. Well suitable for this brilliant American strong ale! Rerating Jan. 2011. Draught @ C4, Odense. Diacetyl/Butter/Peach Melba in the aroma. Very punchy and hoppy citrussy flavor. 3,9-3,7.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Reddish to chestnut-amber coloured, hazy, dense lacy off-white head, roast-malty, sweet and caramelly and fruity nose with a very distinctive aromatic hoppy background, brandy-like alcohol in the aroma, too; very robust sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied, soft MF, lingering sweet and aromatic-hoppy finish. Gorgeous stuff...........
