50cl Can from Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Brewed by Carlsberg Malaysia. Deep golden colour, white head. Aroma is very sweet, liqueur, almonds (a warning for poison?), alcohol. Flavour is sweet, almonds, liqueur, sweet burning alcohol (feels much heavier than 9%), some caramel. No bitterness. Not half as bad as I expected, I finished the whole can.

500ml can at the less tramp friendly 9%. Pours gold with a small head. Aroma is syrupy corn. Taste is sweet and syrupy, corn and grain. If it wasn’t for the 12 hour shift I’ve just finished, it would be down the drain. As it is, this shit is fucking ace!

500ml can at a friend’s house. Clearly not that much of a friend as he gave me this. It was the end of the working day, I hadn’t eaten and I was given a 9% European Strong lager to drink. I still think of this style as European Strong Lager. A little metallic and just a little syrupy on the alcohol. The rest isn’t awful. I drank it without pulling a face. It’s not something I would rush at again, but it wasn’t terrible.

500ml can picked up at a store in the Kings X area on our way back to Arriva. Clear golden. Fragile lacing to the plastic glass. Heat of alcohol to the nose. Vile taste of sweet fruity water and alcohol. Sticky sweetness and even more alcohol to the ending. Shared with Finn and the drain (hotel room, London 28.09.2010).
