Beer has been produced in Scotland for over 5,000 years and our winter seasonal is another excellent example of a region's climate, history, and ingredient availability shaping its beer culture. The style we now call 'Wee Heavy' is also known as Strong Scotch Ale or 90 Shilling Ale and is characterized by its sweetness, strength, and malt-forward nature. The 90 Shilling Ale brew was the strongest Scottish beer being produced, and tended not to utilize significant hopping to counteract this malt heavy sweetness. Like the Queen tune that is her namesake, our Fat Bottomed Girls is dark brown in hue and deeply caramelized due to a four boil, with hints of earth, smoke, and toffee, resulting in a thick, chewy mouthfeel. Try one and we think you'll agree - fat bottomed girls really do make the rocking world go round.

19/4/2020. Bottle from BEEReacracy, Davao City. Pours a little murky mid to dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma is earthy, malty, peaty, smokey, woody, toffee, whiskey, hint of chocolate. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with a very slight tart edge. Medium body, quite thick. Soft carbonation. Warming alcohol finish. Interesting brew, quite enjoyed it.
