Sweet apple, slightly dusty aroma and flavor. Absolutely no hopbitterness. Rice flavor, like cheap sake. Should be refreshing, but on a cold Dutch winter day there's only the lack of (hop)flavor that shows.

50cl Can from AH,as Faja Lobi Parbo Bier, doesn’t say where it’s been brewed, but I’m not surprised it’s a Belgian lager (sorry Belgians, I just don’t like your lagers).. Clear pale golden colour, aroma of swamp, skunky hops, grain. Flavour is sweet, vegetables, grain, light sour malts, watery metallic finish with a CO2 tingle. Light bodied. Not very good.

Bottle 25cl. @ home. [ As Bolle Jan Pilsener ]. Clear medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, light light hoppy, light to moderate yeasty, leather notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090509]

Tasted as “Bolle Jan Pilsener”. Collapsing, just yellowish tinted head over clear metallic, pale golden beer. Shards of lace. Dry-ish, fresh malts nose, with a whiff of caramel and alcohol. Grainy, soft-sweet malts taste, fresh malts; actually quite good for a Pilsener/pale lager. Ends duller sweet. Light to medium bodied, grist slickness. Decent pilsener, better than usual from Huyghe. The label remarks that the bottle remains property of the brewery Bolle Jan. Ah? And what do they say in Melle about that? As to the caption “Echt Brabants”, that is beyond ridiculous.

Can. Typical pilsener. Thought this was from the Surinam brewery, which makes the Djogo, so I actually tried to score a country here. Too bad.

An orange beer with a small white disappearing head. The aroma is sweet malty and so is the flavor. A very simple beer with a thin body.
