The first beer brewed by Allendale Brewery on St. Valentine's Day 2006.

A beautiful light ruby ale, highly drinkable with a refreshing bitterness and an exciting citrus floral hop character from a late hopping of Cascade. Also has Columbus.

Flavour is crisp on the malty side (crystal, caramel, biscuit) and has a nice wooden, nutty and mildly toasted note to it as well. Nice floral and grassy finish.

Bottle. A dense, finger-thick off-white to light beige head forms over an unclear, dark amber colored body. The aroma is mostly on the toffee side, with a pleasant citrusy touch. Cocoa notes and some resiny hints. It’s medium bodied and quite dry on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Toffee, hazelnuts, cocoa, citrus peel and resins in the flavor, with a nice bitterness. Lasting finish. Quite pleasant and easy drinkable this one, sessionable. 140927

500ml bottle. Clear, reddish dark amber colour with average, thick, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Airy hoppy aroma has cautious fruity hints of red berries, a touch of nougat. Taste is minimally bitter hoppy, cautious unspecific malty background with a nuttily touch and hints of nougat. Slightly unbalanced, doesn’t meet my taste.
