Our brewers selected flavour packed, slow kilned ale malt, caramalt and biscuity malted wheat to craft a malt backbone which is then beautifully complemented by a heady hop aroma of zesty lemon and orange citrus. This golden ale finishes refreshing and moreish.

Hops: First Gold, Cascade, Fuggles, Citra, Centennial
Malt: Pale ale, Caramalt, Wheat

Clear pilsner golden. Good white head and lacing. Aroma of lime and grape fruit. American hops. Typical golden ale taste. American hops balanced with English pale malt. Lemon in aftertaste. Good drinkability, but not a man’s drink.

(Bottle) Cloudy golden with very thin white head. Not much aroma - hints of grass, biscuits and pine. Medium body with light carbonation. Foretaste pleasant enough but not very distinctive - the barley and wheat grains were apparent along with some balancing fruitiness I couldn’t name. The flavour then crispens up with the hops coming to the fore for a nice finish. Pleasant enough, easy to drink.

Bottle. Gold with a small white head. Aroma of orange, grapefruit, hay, a little biscuit. Lowish carbonation, pleasingly soft in the mouth. Sweet oranges, biscuit, some herbal notes in the gently insistent bitter finish. Refreshing.

Cask a McCowan’s. Clear golden yellow pour, foamy white head. Aromas of floral hops, light fruit, some light malt. More malt-dominated on the taste though, and on the thin side. Not bad.

Cask at Number 27, Inverness, 19/10/13. Clear golden with a good sized off white head. Nose is toasted malts, citric waft, orange. Taste comprises orange pith, toasted malts, bread dough, citrus fruit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry grassy bitter notes in the finale. Decent GB and in great condition as per all the cask ales I had at number 27 this weekend.

Dobre i tresciwe a za tym goryczkowe piwo z krzepka wielka piana i zlotym kolorze. Wszystko ladnie wyglada, a smak takze dobry z pomarancza w tle i inne cytrusy kilka zroznicowanych chmieli. Wytrawny finisz. Piwo przyjemne w piciu i nie meczy.

500 ml bottle sampled in 2009. Good looking, clear golden with a big, lasting white head. Not much aroma, some grain and hint of citric fruit. Plain and simple flavor, light malt, hint of fruit, not much bitterness. Medium body and short in aftertaste. Pretty average but drinkable.
