Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Foco a while back. Bottle titled Vintage 2012. Pours a touch hazy yellow appearance with a dissipating white head. Somewhat zesty/spicy, white wine, grape, pear, a bit musty aroma. Fairly sweet malty, a bit sugary, white grape, apple, pear, light banana, somewhat tangy flavor. Fairly decent but kind of a one-dimensional fruit bomb that’s not even that dry.

Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a clear yellow-gold color with a medium sized soapy/foamy white head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweetish and had touches of wood and chardonnay. The flavor was tangy sugar, candied grapes and a touch of cardboard. Medium length tangy sugar and grape finish. Moderately full bodied. Decent.

Bomber. Pours a clear yellow with small white head. The aroma is wheat and yeast. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet fruit and dry finish. A decent Blond from Blue Moon.

Not bad, the white grapes are very bright next to the typical Belgian dblon flavors. I actually liked this more than I thought I would, but think increased yeast character would push this beer up a few notches.

Capped 750 as 2012 Vintage Blonde Ale from the Folsom BevMo. Pours gld with a fizzy/creamy white head. Looks more like sparkling wine than BudLight. It’s in a Stella glass with the pricklies so the tiny bubbles keep rising. Aroma is vinous - suggesting white grapes - better than Thompson seedless, but mayhap more semillon than chardonnay. Ok. The grape flavor is pretty chardonnay. It seems a bit wheaty, but - ok the subtext says wheat. Drinks pretty nice. Interesting flavor.

Pours light gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving no lacing. Sour grape aromas. Sweet Chardonnay front to back. Medium length sweet oak finish.

Tap at Rackhouse Pub - listed on the menu as "barrel aged blonde" and on the tap handle as "vintage ale" - rather unassuming and subtle beer, really - the Chardonnay is what is dominant - a creamy texture - lightly sweet malt and a touch of wheaty malt on the tail end remind you that you are drinking beer - the chard character is gentle but flavorful - I liked it for the most part.

10th October 2008. GABF. Leaving the hall at the end of the session a Blue Moon rep pounced with this beer so what the hell! Pale gold beer. Light crisp palate. More than a bit surprised to find the grapes do give this beer a winey slant and with the crisp palate it is a decent beer. Just wish I’d tried their Peanut Beer now....
