A bit light colored, certainly not black but dark brown, this stout. But it is an excellent one! Roast aroma, of course, but also milky, with coffee and chocolate notes, like a refined mocha melange. The flavor is less subtle. Roasted malt, bitter chocolate, maple syrup. Loads of hops. Blackberries, licorice. Very well done, this beer!

33 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori. Rated on 15.01.2010
Aroma is somewhat sweet with licorice, roasted malt and coffee. Flavour is sweetish with salty licorice, some dark chcolate, coffee and roasted notes. Dry and somewhat ashy finish. Good.

Corked bottle, courtesy of Jan (fonefan), probably brewed in 2005 and 6 years old
Dark brown color, almost black, with medium sized head. Mild aroma of roasted malts, nice, maybe with a shade of oxidisation. The mouthfeel is quite smooth, dry as well; roasted malts flavor, luckily avoiding ashy traits; correct bitterness; it doesn’t seem to be old, it’s fresh indeed. Balanced, dry, roasty Stout.

75cl bottle shared with friends. It had been aged for a year. Quite a decent stout :-)

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Pikkulintu - shared with Rosenbergh) The beer poure deep dark brown and cloudy. Its head was light brown and disappeared quickly. Aroma had molasses, sweetness and roastedness. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, roastedness, mildly coffee, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was bitter. The taste was too mild and it lasted only a very short time. Adding yeast from the bottom of the bottle actually improved the taste.

Warning! Early amateur rating! A thhinish stout. Minerally and sweet with a very dry complex finish full of malt and a subtle smoky note. Very nice.

11.2 ounce bottle courtesy of Santa Papsoe. Thanks! Dated Jan 4, 2010, opened 9/13/10. Pours a dark brown color with some sediment. Creamy tan head, medium sized, with good head retention and lacing. Aroma of rich cocoa, caramel notes, faint nutty notes and mild fruity notes including cherries and stone fruits. The taste is chocolate, bitter hops, cherries, some leafiness and a bit of an oat-like note. Slightly tart. A bit thin bodied. Moderate carbonation and fairly smooth. Nice beer.

On Draught, BQ, Milan, with Steeley. Deep dark brown, virtually black, with a decent looking tan head. Well proportioned body with a smooth and gently creamy mouthfeel. Roasted malt flavour with drark berry fruit, coffee, liquorice, and dark chocolate notes; nicely bitter. Good stuff. Win.
