Brewed by Belhaven for Innis & Gunn

Ingredients: Golden Promise and Crystal malt; Phoenix hops.

For 30 days this sunshine coloured beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a ’marrying tun’ where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance.

This unique process produces an exceptionally light, refreshing beer.

Delicate vanilla and orange citrus aromas with hints of honey. The palate is lightly oaked with vanilla and biscuity malt combining with a light carbonation to give an exceptionally refreshing, moreish beer. Clean and malty in the finish.

Bottled. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is toffee, some slight wooden, a bit caramelly and mild diacetyl notes. Flavour is oaked, some citrus, caramel and mild honey to it. Slight diacetylic tones as it warms up.

On tap, blue blazer edinburgh ... light yellow ... light hop fruit ... juicy ... sweet ... lots of vanilla ... bit uninspired.

A hazy orange-amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of oranges. The flavor sweet with strong notes of caramel, but also hints of acidity, wood, and whiskey. It has slightly more character than the standard Innis & Gunn, but not much considering, that it has been on barrel 366 days compared to usually 47. Thanks to Ian of BSF for this beer.
