Bottle courtesy of deanso. Dark brown almost black pour. Tan broken head. The whisky aroma is quite dominant, which follows through into the flavour. Lots of smokiness in the flavour too but quite a strange hospital like aftertaste. Has the makings of a nice beer but needs more work. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Opaque very dark beer. Creamy tan head. Peaty whisky nose. Softish semi dry palate. Tangy porter and peaty whisky. Normally good bedfellows but here something jars. Dry bitterish malt, slightly peaty and smoky. Not joined up - just lacks cohesion.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of smoke, infections, wood, and whiskey- hmm - what’s going on here??? The flavor is sweet with notes of smoke, tar, wood, roasted malt, alcohol, and whiskey - quite astringent, leading to a dry, alcoholic, smokey, and woody finish. A bit of my scale. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.
