Bottle, Dark brown color. caramelly aroma. Caramelly sweet flavor with chicken food. Pear drups. Hints of licorice. Sticky mouthfeel. Somewhat disappointing.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A hazy dark amber beer with a dense, small, beige head. Caramel, some citrus peel, a milky touch and yeast on the nose. Sourish caramel flavor with coffee and yeast. Full-bodied, nicely carbonated and with an almost unpleasant citrusy touch. Lasting finish that I can’t really say I like. Sure, this isn’t the best doppelbock I’ve tasted. 110128

On tap @ my local De Ponteneur, Amsterdam. Dark redbrown color, very hazy. Thick beige head, quickly disappearing. Smells acidic, roasted, spicy, caramel malty. Taste is a bit tart and a bit caramel-sweet, roasted. Fairly fullbodied. Finishes slightly bitter and roasted. The sourness is not overwhelming, but I do think they have a problem.
