Kasteel Blond is beautifully balanced with hop bitters and malty aromas. The hints of fruit from the yeast are reminiscent of citrus fruits. The beautiful balance makes the beer mild in the aftertaste and is therefore an excellent thirst-quencher.

Feb. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured a clear yellow body with medium to big head. Fine coriander, banana, strong estery aroma, like a wheat ale. Flavor was similar, pleasantly malted sweetish with honey, sweet apple, peach and spices. High carbonation within its medium body making it tingling on palate. A metallic note was present in the finish, but nothing too bothering. Anyway, a pleasant, about mediocre Belgian ale with some interesting notes that reminded of both German Weizen and Kölsch.

(Bottle) Pours clear golden with thin white head. Not a very appealing aroma - a little metallic, a little spicy, a little barnyard. Medium bodied with smooth carbonation. Taste is unusual, and pleasant with a balance between a rather honey-like sweetness and some peppery spice. There some banana and toffee in the mid-palate, and some metallic notes in the start. There’s a lot to like, and a few things to dislike.

Somehow I’ve missed this so far. At Craft Room, Zagreb. Golden body with a lasting small white head. Sweet malty aroma, full, light pear notes, somewhat spicy. Taste... hmmm.... Interesting malty/fruity notes, minty in a way, notes of apples. Quite nice and drinkable, the latter of which cannot be said for some of the beers in the same range. All in all, good job!

Bottle from Yamaya. Nose is candy, chalky vanilla, grass. Clear gold. Lace. Sweet malt, lemon, honey, sugar. Rather lame flavor. Sweet, thck, muddy. Boring nonsense.

BOTTLE 33 CL: Clear golden, white head. Aroma of sun-dried fruit, malts and nutty cookies (you can see this in other Van Honsebrouck beers). The taste is similar, but flatter and simpler. Too much taste of CO2 too. A decent and distinct ale overall.

Draught @ random restusrant Liepaja, Latvia. Pours golden with a creamy white head, lacings. Aroma of malt, little yeast, light sweetness, little fruity, some light metallic notes. Flavor is light sweet, malt, yeast, light fruit, yeast, light metallic, paper notes. Medium body, soft carbonation. Boring. 131015
