Kasteel Blond is beautifully balanced with hop bitters and malty aromas. The hints of fruit from the yeast are reminiscent of citrus fruits. The beautiful balance makes the beer mild in the aftertaste and is therefore an excellent thirst-quencher.

On tap at Lowlander, London WC2. Slightly hazy gold with a decent white head. Sweetish, with a slightly spicy edge, touch of green herb and hint of dryness in the finish. Ok.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer topped by a small, white to off-white head. Sugary fruits and some Belgian ale yeast in the aroma. The flavor is sweet, some yeast in the back, and with fresh and some dried fruits as well. Medium body. The finish has bitterness and some spices. Overall, too sweet. I definitely prefer the strong one. 100115

Bottled (from belgianshop.be). Golden colour with creamy white head, that leaves nice lace. Aroma is fruity, yeasty and a bit herbal. Flavour is quite grainy, sweet malts as well as some herbs and wooden notes. Quite easy to drink, and pleasant.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Brilliant clear gold beer with a thick lasting white head. A good looking beer. Very moderate Belgian fruity yeast aroma. Tastes a bit like a lager in the mouth. Nothing wrong with it, but just not a particularly interesting blond. Kind of a sub Duvel. Very drinkable though.
