(Bottle. Thanks to SaintMatty) Deep ruby colour with lasting, firm brown head, leaving lots of lacing. Malty, fruity nose with dark rye bread, dark berries, cherries and caramel. Malty taste with notes of dark rye bread, chocolate, caramel and a touch of cherries and dark fruit. More than medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Sweet, actullay a bit too sweet. Lacking some hops, focus is on sweet malt and caramel. Nice, warming and tasty. In short: liquid dark bread with sweet cherries and caramel.

Bottle, 6.8%. Black colour, small creamy light brown head. Distinct liquorice flavour, quite sweet with a hint of salt. Slick mouthfeel, mild carbonation. The bitterness is probably high, but it is not felt much against the sweetness. The alcohol is only noticed in the late finish when it warms my nose a bit.

Bottle. Pour is a cola-like brown with a bit of highlighting and a thin head that is all but gone in the time it has taken to type this. Aromas of clay, dust, cola, prunes and black cherries. In spite of the thin appearance, mouthfeel is heavy and syrupy and flavors are very sweet... almost a bit cloying. Maybe like Cherry Coke syrup (or at least flat Cherry Coke). Fruit is there, as is a cola like presence. This isnβt for me as it needs a little something (more alcohol or some more pronounced hops?) to balance out all of that sweet stickiness.

Bottle. Poured deep brown with thick lasting white head. Not much aroma, a bit of plum. Flavour is full malt, caramel, chocolate plum. Lasting silky full finish. A winner!

500ml bottle. Pours a deep, black, chocolate toffee color, with a little stained-glass red peeking through on the edges. Big, lasting head. This is quite an excellent Baltic porter. Reminiscent at times of a Dunkel in itβs brown sugary sweetness. Big, rich, creamy...and highly drinkable. Mild and watery mouthfeel, not much hop character...but that fits the style. Slight alcohol warming grows throughout. A great beer.

Bottle, thx to faroeviking. Pours a really dark brown body, clear looking, with a creamy beige head. Quite burnt aroma with chocolate and a little fruityness, smooth and balanced. The flavor has chocolate, some roasted malt, a lovely fruityness and a wee touch of grains. Silky, warming and full-bodied. Smoked and fruity finish. A really good beer, smooth, but maybe a bit on the sweet side, would like it a little bit drier. (080301)
