Bottle. Dark brown/black with a decent beige head. Aroma of malts and liquorice. Taste of malts, liquorice, dark bread and some chocolate. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation. Kind of watery and anaemic. So-so.

pours a clear reddish dark brown with a medium beige head and some lacing. weak aroma of toasted malts and rye bread. flavour of smoke, nuts, burnt bread. light body, a bit watery.

On tap at the mailbox, Lincoln. Deep ruby colour with a thick white head. Stewed fruity aroma. Taste light sweet to a light bitter finish. Lively body.

Dark brown to black colored, small to medium beige head, non lasting. Aroma is caramel, toasted malt, bread, cardboard. Taste is moderate- sweet caramel, some nuts, toasted malt, bread, cardboard, hints of veggies. Medium bodied and carbonation.

Un buen ejemplo de schwarzbier, bastante conseguida. Negra casi opaca, con espuma beige media. Aroma a malta tostada. Muy ligera y agradable, con un sabor equilibrado y suave. Regaliz quizá sea el tono predominante, sin destacar demasiado de otros (delicada malta, chocolate). Ligero amargor final. Y superbebible.

Shared bottle. Black with big light beige head. Light fruits with red apple and apricot, licorice, salmiak, quite herbal and carbonated mineral water. Light sweet and light roasted bitter finish. Medium bodied with almost watery feel. Not bad.

Bottle at Carls Brauhaus, Stuttgart, 08/02/15. Dark mahogany brown with a decent light tan covering. Nose is rich malt, raisens, caramel, light charr, dark fruits, spice. Taste comprises biscuit, toffee, raisens, light spice, cake mix. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid Schwarz, plenty of depth for the style.

500 ml bottle (old rating found in a notebook). Clear, dark brown body, almost black with a moderate sized beige head. Aroma is not particular strong, but quite nice with roasted dark malt and hint of toast. Flavor is quite refreshing, moderate roasted dark malt, some coffee, medium sweet and low bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Refreshing, moderate roasted Shwartzbier, true to the style.
