New Beer Distributors, NYC 50cl: Pours black with a creamy head. Aroma is light chocolate, grainy malt, and some dirt. Taste is pretty much in line. Very slightly sweet. Mild chocolate. Easy to drink. I found it pleasant.

Half liter fliptop from WFM Lexington. Pours a clear dark brown color with a large foamy brown head. Average head retention. Aroma of doughy malt, earth and raisin. The taste is raisin and not much else. Mild hints of toffee and Noble hops. Thin bodied. Meh.

500ml bottle. Clear, ruby red glowing, dark brown colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, a touch of rock sugar. Taste is minimally grainy, cautiously sweet dark malty. Lacks intensity in aroma and taste, cautious hints of artificiality concerning colour and sweetness.

SWING-TOP 50CL.
Look: almost black with red highlights, clear. Medium-sized beige frothy head with an average retention.
Aroma: starts with some winey acidity/oxidation but that fades out quickly, a bit of caramel, just a touch of toast. Quite faint.
Taste: Dr, light bitter, some mineral sharpness.
More like a coloured dortmunder. Very little roasted grain character.

Aroma is faint caramel, sweetness and also little bit metallic. Pours very dark brown, almost black with light tan head. Head is nice and stays for some time. Taste: liquid black bread, caramel, hints of sweetness and sourness with watery side taste and very watery aftertaste. Soft almost flat carbonation. Overall: this beer looks better than tastes, the black bread taste is really nice, but everything next to it are really dissapointing. Maybe with some tinkering of the reciepe, this could be good beer, but at the moment, it’s not good.

500ml bottle. Stained glass amber-burgundy body, filtered. Big steady beige head. Cheap Eastern Europe Dark beer aromas..malt extract..syrup. Has that malta thing going on. Let’s not call this a Schwarzbier, because it is such a weak example of that it just isn’t fair. I’ll give it "Dark". Or maybe "Factory Beer". It seems like they import only the cheapest Eastern European beers these days, stuff that probably goes for the better part of a quarter over there. No quality, no style, no finesse. Not quite a drainpour, but certainly not a beer to buy unless you are a real dedicated ticker.

Bottle. Pours clear very dark copper brown with airy but stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel. fruit and a touch of roast. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of hops and caramel malt. Watery. Bitter finish. Drinkabæe but not the most exciting Schwarzbier I have ever had.
