Tåkete gyllen farge med hvitt skum. skummet henger i glassveggen. Lukter humle og malt. Og også grapefrukt og sitron. God aroma på denne. Desverre skuffer smaken ift. aromaen. Smaker litt vannete men samtidig humle. Også syrlig. Noe bitter og tørr i ettersmak. Absolutt godkjent...

500 ml can. Clear deep golden body with a medium sized off-white head. Pleasant and quite strong aroma dominated by pine and spruce with some malt. Flavor also gives a clear impression of pine, but it’s more volatile and becomes more anonymous with moderate malt and toffee flavor. Some fruit as well and pretty low bitterness. Medium body and rather short aftertaste. An easy to drink session beer, but a bit to one-dimensional.

Draught, 250ml nicely served in a tulip shaped glass at Broker. Bright golden-brown body. White ring to the rim of the surface. Rather attractive aroma of pine needles, floral hops and caramel malts. Restrained but quite alright taste of mild caramel and mid-dry fruity hops. Discreet bitter ending. Soft in the mouth. Medium to thin bodied. Nice and a fine partner with my roast beef salad (Oslo 11.03.2014).

Appearance: Clear golden color with a frothy big white head. Good lacing.
Aroma: Fresh hoppy and mild fruity.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet, and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Decent hoppy, mild malty, mild fruity and a fine mild malty back. Some metal notes.
Overall impression: Decent hoppy ale that will suit a lot of the ordinary Norwegian grocery store customers.

Can, provided by the brewery. Immediately after opening the can, a pleasant flowery citrusy hoppyness hits the nose, making me quite optimistic. I mean, the largest Norwegian brewing company isn’t expected to put something interesting on the ale side on the market. They have their Christmas specialties, but besides that it’s normally pretty bland. Well, it even looks good in the glass, crystal clear, dark golden body and a creamy, off-white head that lasts, leaving curtains as the beer goes down my throat. Well, back to the aroma. I soon understand I won’t be impressed. They’ve taken the wrong approach, being to gentle on the hops. There’s sure hops there, grass, flowers and some citrusy whiffs, but it needs more. I think the market is ready for it, by doing it this way I’m afraid it won’t be a market opener for them, or help spreading the word. It’s pretty silky on the palate, probably a tad too sweet and thin, but still pleasant. Actually, it lacks on bittering hops too, but I can live with that, it’s still an easy drinkable beer I would chose over any Norwegian store strength industrial beer except the similar product from their biggest competitor. Pretty short finish, except for the fruity, grassy hops. Forgot to mention the malts I see. There’s a faint caramel touch in the flavor, with a light biscuity hint and also some pale malts. All at appropriate levels, pity the hops ain’t. Well, at least it’s a step in the right direction. 140226

Fin duft av granbar, eik, rosin og plomme. fin lys brun farge. Tykt dekkende skum. Frisk eike preget smak med en litt tør ettersmak av granbar. Greit drikke øl i sommervarmen et lite hakk over standard makro fabrikk øl, ikke mer.

Can at home. Courtesy of the brewery. Pours a clear copper-like colour with a large, creamy and light beige foam head. In aroma, the first thinh that hits the nose is a touch of grassy hops, but also has a fruity tone that leans towards dried fruit. In the end there�s a malty touch with caramel, leather, and a hint of lime. The taste is equally at several levels starting with fruity peach, and through a little rubber the taste ends somewhat dry with a pleasant touch of pale malt and hay. Mouth feel is light and smooth, and has a durable medium bitterness. This is basically a light and balanced ale with a nice hop character in the aroma and a great and lasting. Despite the fact that it�s used American hops I think it shows signs of being more like an English type of pale ale.

50cl can from ICA Vindern. Pours clear copper to amber with a white head. Quite mild hoppy aroma with pale malts, caramel and some floral. Medium sweet and quite pleasant compared to the Frydenlund pilsner. Hardly very interesting, but drinkable enough.
