Bottle at Dégust, Hoogeveen. Aroma is roast, huge oak, lots of red wine, caramel, some liquorice, boozy. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet. Body is medium to full. Total barrel takeover, not much left of the fruity bitter hops, but nicely vinous.

Bottle. Dark brown color, opague. Malt, hints of grassy hops, red wine and hints of bubblegum in the aroma. Faded hops, caramel, licorice and vinous notes in the flavor. Smooth, well matured, well balanced. Grassy finish with licorice. Very low on carbon. Great!

Billynomates solo hotel tasting. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy, semi dry and fairly crisp. Mellow dark malts, a touch of dark chocolate. Spicy mid, spicy alcohol - vodka like. Spirity red wine. Spicy red berries. Smooth finish brings a trace of caramel. Subtle this one isn’t. Big and bold.

Dunkel malziger Antrunk, rund hopfiger Hintergrund. Die Hopfigkeit steigt dabei an, milde Herbe, vollmundig. Süßlich erdig im Mittelteil, erstaunlich süffig. 10/11/11/11/9/11

0,33l bottle at home courtesy of Euro Local Swap thanks to bierkoning. BB 06/2017. black color, small coffee-colored head. smells alcoholic, light grapes, red fruits, light berries, spices, glueish, light marzipan. decent smell, hints of green apples. full body, soft carbontion, slick mouthfeel. tastes alcoholic, marzipan, light grapes and berry notes, spices, light barrel notes. finishes rather alcoholic with some grapes, marzipan and spices. liked the base beer a lot better, this one is horrible boozy and for the high ABV it has quite little else to offer. My 3rd or so barrel aged black ipa, and I still do not understand the point..
