Adelscott was the first beer flavored and coloured by peat-smoked whiskey malt. Since then, it has inspired enough breweries to make this a sub-category among the smoked beers.

Interesting. It seems like som malt liquor, to which cheap, peated whisky was added and then tried to mask peat with loads of sugar.

Bottle from an Esselunga supermarket in Lucca. Pours clear amber/orange with a small off-white head. The aroma contains malts, peat, smoke, whisky overall, but also some caramel and sugar. It tastes medium to heavy sweet. Oily texture and soft carbonation. Good try but way too sweet and uniform.

Dose 0,5l: Bernstein, klar, kräftiger stabiler mittelporiger Schaum; in dder Nase schöne würzige Süße, Malz, Malzzucker, Getreide, leichte Säure, Röstaromen, etwas dunkle Fruchtigkeit; im Körper kräftige Süße, Malzzucker, Malzbier, roter Traubensaft, spritzig, kräftige Kohlensäure, leichte Säure; angenehmer malzig-süßer Nachgang, viel Malzzucker, aber kein Malt Whisky!

Can from Simply shared. Clear dark golden with short lasting white head. Very sugary up front, some butterscotch and sweet malts, red apple, light grain whisky and bourbon. Over medium sweet with light bitter finish. Medium bodied with sugary feel. Yuck.

Gylden brun klar med høyt beige skum. Lukter vanilje, karamell, alkohol, malt og noe whisky.

Can, 0.50l. Clear deep golden brown color with small frothy white head and average visible carbonation in palate. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits, butterscotch with smokey hints. Taste starts with heavy sweet caramel and butter, following is mild fruity, mouthfeel is warming, while finish is mildly bitter. Light to medium body, sticky texture and average carbonation in palate. Artificial syrupy wannabe beer...

(Bottle) Clear pale brown with loose soapy head. Aroma is vegetables with maybe a hint of whisky. Light and fizzy. Taste is shocking! Sweet, vanilla, caramel. Some smoky hints. Overall nasty.
