Clear deep golden with a large white head. Sweet malty aroma with hints of smoke. Smoked flavor with caramel notes. Finished smoked.

It pours a brilliant dark golden body and a small, off-white head. Fruity, alcoholic aroma with a vanilla touch. Expected peat or peated malts, not vanilla. It’s sweet on the palate, with vanilla, some fruity notes and a malty touch. Some alcohol chimes in. Sweet, vanilla finish. Medium body, almost sticky. A beer that certainly doesn’t delivers what I expect from the label, there’s not much whisky malt going on here, but lots of vanilin. 101006

Bottle, 2010-08-07, La Grande Motte, France bough at the local petit Casino AR: white sugar, some malt AP: bronzeyellow, high bubble quick diminshing white head F. augar, like bakery surup, dryness, no bitterness, were is the wiskey?, at the end ash = No Go!

Medium shiny offwhite head. Brownish amber body. Perfumy syrupy caramel and spice aroma is unusual and interesting. Dry-sweet smoky perfumy caramel malt taste with syrupy notes. Light body. Soft, mild, smooth mouthfeel. Palate is a bit sharp and perfumy, though. Dry-sweet smoky perfumy whisky malts aftertaste with vanilla notes. Quite nice, and certainly interesting, but a bit artificial. (0.5l can, E. Leclerc, Montayral.)

A golden amber ale with a thin lacing white head. Aroma of sweet maple malt and vanilla notes. In mouth, a sweet malt with light smokey notes, light bodied and unremarkable. The smoked ham actually makes it more watery. 500 ml can bought at Inno Passy for 1.30 euros.

can from Auchan Illkirch-Graffenstaden. Clear amber colour, large off-white head. Smoky-sweet nose. Sweet maty basew ith a smoky touch. Way too sweet, it doesn’t go well with the hearty smoke character.

Bottle. Clear dark amber, small white head. Dull and sweet aroma, the taste was strange. To sweet with some odd whisky notes. Not my type of beer.

Looks like a dark yellow pils, with a lively effervescent head. Scant lacing. Aroma of oak and maple syrup, with a background of tin can. Flavor of boilermakers nd Maker’s Mark. Lighter body than expected. An odd beer. Worth trying once, I suppose, but don’t search too hard for it.

0.5l can, 5.8%. Poured a coppery colour, huge thick white head that left fine lacing, lovely. Full, strangely dusty malty nose, weak notes of alcohol. Sweet sugary malty taste, carrying weak notes of smoked ham. Some hop bitterness and metallic notes. Interesting for a (French) macro but not my type.
