Can. Coutesy my colege Pia. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Amber artificial colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Light bitter slightly smoked flavor. Average finish. Oily almost creamy palate. Nice.

Fizzy pop-like head. Aroma has whiskey notes in it, which isn’t such a bad thing. Tasting it is something different - it’s like beer with an aftertaste of peat bog, like sucking down rotten grass or something. Or maybe like sucking on a horse sadlle. No thanks. Drain pour.

Had this on draft years ago. So now I’m rating from a 500ml can. Pours pale amber with a frothy white head. Light aroma of smoky malt with some fruit. Med. body with fizzy/frothy carbonation. Flavor is caramel with mild peat; very mild; with very light fruit. It is a good drink, but not so good as I had hoped. Not dry, but not sticky.

Amber coloured with soapy head. Aroma is sweet, medicinal, grassy. Flavour is very sweet. The scent of smoked peat and whiskey is present throughout but very unpleasant.

From a can. Just slightly amber colored. Medium sized head. Slightly amber aroma, smoky, with malt, slightly sweet, actually just a bit too sweet. Flavor is very smoky. Surprising. Contains sugar, corn and caramel, and the flavor is also confused. Somewhat interesting, though way too sweet for me.

0.33 l transparent bottle, 5.8% ABV. Well, I thought it would be my first scotch ale, but it turned to be my first smoked. It had darker amber to copper body with medium sized head. Malty aroma, some wood, even a bit alcoholic in that peat whisky way. Interesting, but a bit fakeish. Sweetish flavor, just malty, a bit peat-whisky-ish with lot of carbonation, which makes finish sharp and slightly reminding of those tequila pale lagers. Interesting sample to try, I miss some hops in this style, to round the flavor, although I am quite sure this is not typical smoked.

Bottle. Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white - grey head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, moderate vanilla sugar, moderate whisky alcohol, notes of peat. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long to average duration. (Starts and finish is very dusty). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish is light to moderate alcoholic. (080408)

Copper colour, big white head. Aroma is of smoked malt and artificial whiskey. Taste is of sweet smoked malts, and whiskey. Very strange sticky aftertaste. Horrible.

[i]Bottle, Cafe, Lille, France, 28-06-07[/i] A shocker of biblical proportions, far too sweet just so dreadful. Poured amber in colour with white head, some whisky on the nose but this was very forceful in the flavour destroying what was already a ropey beer.
