Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a semi-hazy yet transparent copper color. Finger’s worth of white foamy head dissipated nicely. Moderate sticky lace.
The aroma starts off with sweet malty caramel to bready tones. Sly German lager yeastiness tries to make a subtle presence. Some grassy hops.
The flavor brings it all together sweetly and surely. Unyieldingly smooth sweet breadiness invasive in the aftertaste and sliding into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fantastic sessionability about it. Low carbonation yields a really nice bready smoothness.
Overall, really nice altbier that I could have again.

A golden amber ale with copper hues, and a thin white head. In aroma, a sweet nutty malt with herbal notes, spent grains, not bad. In mouth, a nice smooth biscuit malt with mineral notes, spent grains, grassy hops, not bad. On tap at AFB Burlington, March 18 2012.
