Sample at the DBLDP on 09/02/2012: This beer is a hazy golden color with a medium fizzy white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Earthy malt, citrus and slight hops aroma. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted bread, sweet citrus and mild spices. The finish is short and fruity. Slightly above average overall.

Slightly hazy golden copper coloured body with a dense, two centimetre tall white head. Aroma of fresh grassy and herbal hops, a bit of orange and citrus and a little light malt - not very strong though. Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppy notes up front with a bitter herbal and metallic, almost medicinal flavour with a little citrus and harsh fruit flavour (must be the beets) with the defined blood orange and possibly grapefruity bitterness that rounds out well, but shows some harshness on the palate. Aftertaste is strong, but shows some good complexity and some interesting tastes that you don’t typically get. Overall, an interesting beer, but not very well executed - still nice to try because it’s rare, but not one i’m unhappy of never being able to find it again. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 02-July-2012 for US$5.65 sampled at home in Washington on 17-August-2012.

Bomber from Half Time. Pours hazy orange gold with a transient fizzy white head. Smell rather like light pitted fruit with some orange. Med body. Flavor is orange, with some earthiness. It’s hard to get the malt. It’s bitter. A little astringent. Wouldn’t get beet. It’s something like a strongly carbonated, highly hopped saison? Finishes dry and nicely bitter.

Bottle. Clear golden/orange body. Fizzy, white head, rapidly diminishing. Grainy aroma with notes of toast, bread, caramel. You have to dig for any hop aroma. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Sweet, raw grain tastes stay on the tongue despite a bitterness that lasts into the finish. Some lingering tastes of raw, leafy hops. The sweetness tastes artificial.

Bottle. Pours a near clear pale gold with an orange hue with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has notes of grassy hops, with a bit of veggie and backing sweet grain. Flavor has a good amount of veggie with a hint of grassiness and a bread backbone.
