This wheat beer is the dark cousin of a Hefeweizen. The German yeast that we use to brew this beer carries overtones of banana and clove.

Draft. Deep amber body, hazy. Frothy, off-white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma dominated by caramel with lighter notes of toasted grain, bread and herbs. Just a hint of banana and clove. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lightl sweet, lighty to moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. From the outset, the beer presents a twang that is just shy of being vinegary. Yeast characteristics seemed muted and the darker malts didn’t add much heft with chocolate or roast. While an easy drinker and enjoyable enough, it was not as clean as you would think it would be considering its lively carbonation.
