440ml can Sophie's Beer Store. Pours dark, small beige head. Aroma is nutty, malty. Light bodied with very much a basic back to earth old school stout feel about it. Roasted malt to the fore with some mild coffee hints. Ashy, bitter close. Ok

440ml can direct from the brewer. Pours black, tanned small head, nice retention. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate, hint of spice. Decent body for a 4.1%, its fairly light but not thin and quite smooth on the palate with a nice soft carbonation. Its also quite flavoursome in a session stout type of way. Its not gone for big bold flavours but you do get the coffee, roastiness, dark chocolate at the front and then a blackberry, spice and moderate bitterness at the back with a semi-sweet finish.
