Our brewer Naz has just made a special beer and we’ve put it in a bottle. When one of our own comes up with a compelling beer idea we release it as an In Breed in 640ml longnecks. In the style of a Scotch Ale, it’s malt driven, deep copper in colour with a distinct nuttiness on the finish. Look for dark toffee and earthy spice flavours. Beer for the brave and the brave at heart. Available in specialty beer stores around the country for as long as it lasts (not that long).
Appearance: Amber, almost red.
Aroma: Malty! Biscuity, nutty and subtly sweet.
Flavour: Soft malty touches throughout. Complex, but finishes with a clean nuttiness.
Malts: Gladfield: Ale, Aurora, crystal (2 kinds), Gladiator and Joe White Roast Barley.
Hops: US Willamette & UK Fuggles.

From a 640ml bottle on 13/3/2016. Pours a clear amber with a medium head. The nose is light caramel, butterscotch and toffee. Take a sip and it’s very sweet and malty - not surprisingly butterscotch and toffee, with some nuts in there as well, finished off my a very modest bitterness. medium bodies with moderate carbonation. A very tasty, well made scotch ale.

Pours dark copper with a fading head.Nose shows sweet-smelling bready and toasty malt along with subtle roast.Somewhat sweet flavours too, a bit of roasted and toasty malt with a raisin-like hit underneath.Carbonation seems aggressive.

(Bottle) Clear reddish brown with good tan head. Very subtle pleasant aroma - hints of toffee and nuts. Great palate, fairly full bodied with creamy smoothness from good carbonation. Taste is malty from start to finish, and whilst it is dominant it isn’t cloying or overwhelming. There’s some nice cherry tartness at the start, and some nuttiness develops in the mid palate. The nuttiness combines with some gentle bitter notes for a pleasant finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle, 11C. Deep amber with a modest beige cap. Aroma of toffee and dried fruit, some floral notes. Pretty light bodied, really lacks presence. Sweet toffee, raisins, prunes and grapes. Floral and mildly spicy bitter finish. Empty where it wanted to be grunty.
