We wanted the first beer we brewed to reflect the beautiful island from which it came from. Waiheke is known for its gorgeous beaches, soft golden sand, and sparkling clear water, so we decided to brew the most summery of all beers, a crisp, refreshing lager. Waiheke, a Māori word, translates in English to trickling or sparkling water, which is so apt for a beer that is about 95% water! So we decided to name our lager after the island itself, its abbreviated name, Heke. Made of sparkling artesian water from the island, natural yeast and all grain malt, Heke has a fresh rounded palate, and a crisp finish. It’s refreshing, but not too light, with enough hops to keep it interesting. Enjoy! .

330ml can. Pours bright gold with a huge white head. Peach, bubblegum, white grape, syrup. Medium body. Fine.
