Already the seventh one in this series of Gulpener collabs, this time with renowned Vandestreek, a Californian 'steam beer' in style, the starting point of this whole American craft beer movement. Thanks to Craftmember for sharing. Egg-white, mousy, membrane-lacing, stable head on a hazy warm orange-hued 'old gold' beer. Aroma of dried grapefruit peel, old biscuit, orange zest, dried wormwood, bread crumbs, white pepper. Fruity, crisp onset, clean, mild apricot and orange peel aspects, fizzy carbonation, smooth mouthfeel; biscuity and supple cereally maltiness, sweetish and even very subtly honeyish, but dried by a quite long, leafy, spicy hop bitter finish drying the finish. Hop-forward American style ale indeed, quite to the point for the intended style, though arguably less complexely hoppy than the famous archetype in this style (Anchor Steam).

Bottle. Golden blonde. Peach And soft floral notes in the aroma And flavor. Moderate but persistant hop character. Nice.

Hazy pale amber colour, good frothy white head, good retention and lacing. Aroma sweet malt, lemon, orange, yeast, grass. Flavour medium sweet and light to medium bitter, malty, citrus, grain, spicy notes. Sweetbitter aftertaste, orange peel, chalky and spicy notes, lingering fruity undertone. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, refreshing, nice.

0.3 l bottle from 'Speciaalbierpakket.nl', best before March 2020. Hazy, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity-floral and moderately grassy aroma of lemon peel, quince and a bit of pineapple. Moderately sweet, minimally bitter, rather fruity, floral and a bit grassy taste of lemon peel, quince and some pineapple with a touch of grains, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately grassy finish. Medium body, smooth, slightly creamy and a bit effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very refreshing beer, highly quaffable, good!

30cl bottle from Jumbo supermarket in Bergeijk in Nederland. F: big, white, almost good retention. C: gold, hazy. A: malty, citrus, bit caramel, passion fruits, tangerine, bit tropical fruits. T: medium malty base, caramel, bit bready, citrus, bit tangerine, toast, bit floral, medium body, nice one, enjoyed.

Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of grainy malt, lime, lager yeast and some citric hop. Taste has grainy malt, lime, lager yeast, citric hop and grassy herbs. Has a nice spicey hopbite, nice surprise.
