This Tropical fruit forward Black IPA has been Fermented Warm >30 C to maximise the tropical fruit esters derived from this style of yeast. The Tropical character is then enhanced by a heavy Citra and Mosiac dry hop dose 15g/L. With the addition of a small amount of Carafa malt to the sparge in order produce it's dark colour and lend the lightest of roast flavour.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Slightly hazy dark brown amber colour, bubbly beige foam head and aroma of bready malt, zingy citrusy grapefruit, roasty earthy underhints. Taste is malty, roasted, bready, with grapefruit, lemony citric, some pine, and resiny hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry light roasty bitter finish. Nicely driinkable.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Cork & Cask. Pours clear brown with a creamy, light khaki head. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of brown bread, light lemon and grapefruit, subtle roast, earth. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, some toasted sugars, more earth, brown bread, mild floral notes, nips of cocoa and roast. Enjoyable.

Can online from Beer Without Borders, Dumfries. Pours opaque dark brown with a decent beige head. Aroma: dark berries, liquorice hints. Taste: light sweet & bitter, light chocolate roast, berries, pine. Medium body with frothy carbonation. An interesting take on a BIPA, not much roast or bitterness

Can from Cork & Cask. Hazy amber/brown body with a thin beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of blackcurrant and wood. Flavour of blueberry and pine. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. An interesting take on the style. I enjoyed this even though I prefer a darker, more roasted Black IPA.

440ml Can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie October '20 just prior to Lockdown 2.0. Thanks Ashtonccobb for this. Last beer of the night. Pours dark, hazed, off-white head. Great black IPA overall, not heavy on the dark malts but plenty of sweet swirls. Very nice.
