A rich decadent stout with big flavours of bitter chocolate tempered by milk sugars. Subtle undertones of dark caramel and coffee give a great depth of flavour and keep the sweetness balanced whilst the large quantity of raw cocoa nibs provide that unmistakable dark chocolate finish.

440ml can. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a big, lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is malt and dark chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, light liqourice bitter, with a smooth, light chocolate, lactose palate with hints of coffee in the finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Ok, but a little light and watery.

440ml can Sophies Beer Store. Hazed deep dark brown, beige head. Pleasant grainy milk chocolate nose. Medium to light bodied with nicely balanced chocolate notes, sweet lactose, great drinkability with soft creamy moments. Good stuff.

Can from Beers of Europe. Appearance - opaque black with an attractive fawn head. Nose - dark chocolate, loads of lactose going on. Chocolate sauce. Taste - definitely chocolate sauce. Underlay of chocolate digestive. Palate - creamy textured, medium bodied. Quite sweet on the finish. Overall - fairly typical for the style. It's a style that gets a bit cloying and possibly suits a higher alcohol level.

Can from Elusive brewery. Rich dark chocolate and coffee aroma. Dark. A cola tint. Frothy beige head soon fades. Initial berry sourness. Underlying malty chocolate is overpowered. Some lactose creaminess. Medium bodied. Slick. A tad creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. It's fine. Could do with more of the promised chocolate.
